When did you first attend the Sodem protest outside Parliament and why did you come?

2018, I think.

I’m 65

How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?

I live in Nottingham – its 120 miles.  I usually travelled by train – about 90 minutes.  I went about once a month.

What’s your favourite memory?

My favourite memory is being able to meet so many like-minded people from all over the country and from abroad.  I loved talking to passing tourists (usually Americans) who wanted to understand the politics. We felt angry and hopeful.  We have been let down very badly by our politicians. I met a few people who have become good friends and we correspond regularly

Tell me your story

I helped set up a Nottingham People’s Vote group and we were very active doing street stalls and other campaigns.  I think I picked up SODEM’s activities on Facebook and decided I needed to do more. Steve Bray was a big inspiration.
