What’s your favourite memory?

Booing Boris Johnson as he cycled past!

Tell me your story

This was the first time I’d ever joined any kind of protest but I had become increasingly angry about how the Remain voice was being silenced on all sides. I had a day off work, so took myself off to London on the train, clad in my trusty blue coat. I soon met up with my fellow protestors, who issued me with an EU flag. What struck me was how nice everyone was and how careful we had to be.

There were a few pro-Leave guys who were keeping an eye on us and trying to stir trouble by getting in our faces with cameras and muttering unkind things. It was clear that several had mental health issues and the advice was to never engage them in conversation and avoid all contact.

It was a great day and the high point had to be booing Boris Johnson as he cycled past. Also, it was great to meet Steve Bray, Madeleina Kay and some really dedicated folk.

The fight isn’t over, so as soon as things get back to normal, I will be back with the blue coat!
