To my utter surprise I found myself shouting at the top of my voice ‘Ladies and Gentlemen, look there is John Redwood, the man who told his clients not to invest in the UK. He is, he is an utter bastard’.
I couldn't vote in the referendum and I felt very wronged, because after 26 years living and working in the UK, I loved this country as if it was mine.
I voted to remain in 1975. Later, as a mature student, I studied European politics and economic history, visiting various European countries and EU institutions, seeing cooperation in action.
I consider myself European and believe that this country has benefitted beyond all knowing through being in the EU in every way. My son considers himself to be European. I’m gutted by Brexit.
