When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?

Summer 2018. I felt isolated and frustrated doing nothing, so I wanted to meet like-minded people

Roughly how old are you?

Only 69

How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?

Until I retired in August 2019, once a week, thereafter two or three times a week. Last attended before lockdown.

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

Only 9 stops along the District Line, 40 to 45 minutes. I feel humbled by the sacrifices others made to be there.

What’s your favourite memory?

Singing “Solidarity Forever” outside the Cabinet Office.

Tell me your story

I  voted to remain in 1975. Later, as a mature student, I studied European politics and economic history, visiting various European countries and EU institutions, seeing cooperation in action.
