I am a passionate European - always have been - and sad, devastated and very angry at the situation now, and miserable that we could not stop this stupidity however hard we tried.
I recall seeing the [Brexit red] bus and raising my eyes to the heavens, and thinking that no one would possibly believe that...
I think the first time I attended SODEM was February 2018. I had admired what Steve was doing. All I remember was that it was freezing cold and snowing.
We were outnumbered by unpleasant Brexiters, when suddenly the jolly Yorkshire contingent swept in with a musical parade singing 'your Brexit Deal is crap' to the tune of 'On Ilkley moor by tat'.
We came to show MPs and Lord’s that people in the north weren’t buying the Brexit lies and to support SODEM, as watching the daily protests had given us such a morale boost.
At SODEM I felt amongst like-minded people.
I felt that SODEM was the most "useful" protest, because it was visible to the decision makers and appearing daily in the background of the news.
I can honestly say that I feel so privileged to have met such wonderful, intelligent, inspirational people who will one day be proven to have been on the right side of history.
I launched Women for Europe and often went to Westminster with campaigning material and our banner en-route to Brussels.
I believe that Britain is Great in Europe - indeed I know it, having led or represented UK contributions to European initiatives.
