When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?

7th January, 2019.  Devasted at the thought of leaving the EU. Belong to Enfield for Europe.

Roughly how old are you?

72

How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?

Averaging once every 3 weeks; last time 11th March, 2020.

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

About 10 miles – 1 hour by train.

What’s your favourite memory?

Being outnumbered by unpleasant Brexiteers when suddenly the jolly Yorkshire contingent swept in with a musical parade singing ‘your Brexit Deal is crap’ to the tune of ‘On Ilkley moor by tat’. They were in formation and came in like a conquering army that seemed to overwhelm guys who were hurling abuse at us! The musical times were fun – i.e. musicians against Brexit etc. and Madaleina…

Tell me your story

Hitherto completely unpolitical – retired  Art teacher –  very sad to leave the EU. Not only have I spent the last decade of vacations travelling freely with van and tent, all over Europe (last year all the way to the Black Sea!)  but I also attended the British Institute as a student in Paris (then part of the Sorbonne) way back in 1964. I have always loved the ethos of European values and internationalism . . .
