When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come? 

2018.  At that point, I had hope that reason would prevail and the whole Brexit nightmare would at least be reviewed due to our constant pressure.

2 or 3 times. 2018 was my last visit.

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

About 75km from Westminster, 1.5 – 2 hours travelling time.

What’s your favourite memory?

The wonderful sense of camaraderie hope and optimism I experienced in being part of our lovely pressure group.

Tell me your story

I’m 61 years old and have revelled in the UK being part of the EU. To me, it has always felt such a positive thing and we were a big player, along with France and Germany. I can’t believe how the British public have been duped into voting for this act of self-castration which is so damaging to everyone in the UK.  More than that, I can never forgive the Tories for their inability to take the pragmatic view that virtually half the country did NOT want to leave and negotiate accordingly.  This is utterly devastating and quite frankly, I’m glad I’m old and will die soon. I would hate to have to live my life with the right wing “little Englander” mentality dictating the policy we’re currently having to endure.
