I was despondent, until I heard the voice shouting “Stop Brexit!” behind the news reports. There was somebody doing something! I had to be part of it.
I would never have dreamed before Brexit happened that so many people were prepared to stand up and be counted as pro-Europeans and it seemed that this sentiment actually grew as a result of Brexit.
I even organised a demo myself – In Barcelona outside the British Consulate to protest the proroguing of Parliament, which about 100 people turned up to!
My favourite memory is of Steve Bray circumventing the scaffolding issue by raising the placards on 20 foot poles.
I'm glad and grateful STEVE started SODEM. As a single parent, I could not have done this every day, but I joined when I could, sometimes with my child.
I have lived in Hong Kong since October 2018, so it’s more difficult to attend SODEM now...
I liked seeing Steve in the flesh. Even my French foster kids in France know who he is and what he’s doing.
Because I am remote (living in NL), I am the archetypical keyboard warrior. I have been doing various analytics and strategy formulation for selected groups.

Steve inspired me to stand up in a meeting with the U.K. Ambassador to Greece to shout “Stop Brexit” and wave an EU flag.
