When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?

As soon as I heard about them. I felt very strongly even before Steve Bray started the protest that someone should be doing something like this. So I’m glad and grateful he started it. As a single parent, I could not have done this every day, but I joined when I could, sometimes with my child.

Roughly how old are you?

43 now.

How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?

We left the UK in early 2019, but until then I came every other month or so.

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

What’s your favourite memory?

When I sang with Simon Wallfish and the Ode to Joy group, and we’d walk towards Sodem singing, and see faces light up. We did this every month.

Tell me your story

I loved the ‘Cake not Hate’ day. It was amazing to always see the positive atmosphere and then compare it to the angry, hateful faces of the Leavers. We tried to remain positive and engage people in informative debate.
