When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?
Circa October 2018. Because I was curious about Brexit. Because I was bereft. Because I was determined to have a voice and be counted.
Roughly how old are you?
62
How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?
Tried to come once a week when I could (run my own business which was getting busier, so it more more tricky as time went on). Last meaningful time was 10th May, 2019, when Guy Verhofstadt came. Then a couple more times briefly for less than an hour in September.
How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?
10 miles. Travelling time c55minutes.
What’s your favourite memory?
Marching to Downing Street when the Yorkshire Choir came down. Being there for when May’s deal was voted down. Mainly when the votes were happening were the best times.

I am a London-born woman working in international education. I want the Britain I thought we were back in 2012 when I participated as a volunteer in the Paralympic and Olympic Games, when I thought we were outward looking, open and inclusive. I feel heartbroken about what has happened to the country, sick to my soul at the vile underbelly that has been exposed, and the blue ‘passport’ that has allowed racists all over the country to voice their abhorrent views. Beyond angry at the corruption and lies but now feeling somewhat beaten and disheartened by it all.
