When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?

I used to protest with N°10Vigil opposite 10, Downing Street three times a week. I don’t remember the actual date I went to SODEM for the first time, but it was around a week or so after Steve started his campaign.

Roughly how old are you?

I am exactly 72 now (from May, 2020)

How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?

Once or twice a week, and the last time was on the final day the UK was a member of the EU, on 30 January 2020.

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

I live near Orpington and it takes me about an hour to get to Westminster.

What’s your favourite memory?

One of many great memories was when we sang protest songs with Yorkshire for Europe who came with instruments and a choir master.

Tell me your story

I am through and through European: born in Budapest, came as a child refugee to Vienna, then to a school in Germany, and in 1970 to the UK. English step-father, British ex-husband, retired civil servant. I planned to leave the UK, but kept putting it off as I love this country, my home of 50 years. And I am devastated to leave family and friends behind in this chaos.
