When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?

Winter 2019

Roughly how old are you?

48

How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?

5-10 times. I think that the most recent time was the final protest before the general election.

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

I live in Stockholm but travel to London for work every third week.

What’s your favourite memory?

The protest close to the general election when I was on my way to Heathrow. There was a great crowd with lit up banners and the magic money tree. I got so involved in conversations that I was dangerously close to missing my flight.

Tell me your story

I live in Stockholm with my Swedish wife (who studied and worked in the UK for over a decade). I initially took the position that we had to accept the result of the referendum but as the lies were exposed and rights stripped away I started to campaign. My first involvement was marching in October 2018 with British in Europe and the 3million. After that I attended parliamentary lobbies, further marches and SODEM. When the October 2019 march was delayed, I set up a parallel rally at the Embassy in Stockholm. We made it on to Sweden’s equivalent of BBC news with a live interview and passable impression of Steve Bray’s Stop Brexit shout (which got a cheeky thumbs up from someone in the embassy).
