When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?
After the 2017 General Election. I had been working in electoral registration and that prohibited campaigning on behalf of parties or to remain. So the job went. I couldn’t join Labour because I disagreed with Jeremy Corbyn as Labour Leader. I think he failed to see Brexit as a racist project and threat to jobs and communities.
Roughly how old are you?
Mid 50’s
How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?
I’m still campaigning. Once a week minimum. Often twice.
How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?
I live in Romford but because of post cancer fatigue and health my journey is undertaken partly by car and partly by train.
What’s your favourite memory?
Finding myself alongside Dame Sarah Connolly outside Parliament, singing Ode to Joy.
Tell me your story
I’ve had cancer. I have brother in Denmark. Our family has enjoyed freedom of movement for work. I enjoy living in a diverse City. My MP is a rabid Brexiter and a Boris-backer. His correspondence contained untruths. He was given fair opportunity to correct that disinformation. He didn’t take it. I formed Havering4EU with friends. I campaigned with Brexitometers in Romford and Upminster. I have been called all sorts of rude names. I am still committed to campaigning against a No Deal exit. I’m very concerned about impact on poorer families, the frail, food, medication, health and jobs.
