When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?
Peoples Vote March October 2018, although we never quite got to Parliament Square as it was so very busy.
Roughly how old are you?
55
How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?
We attended 3 or 4 of the London marches, the last one in July 2019.
How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?
Cambridge, about one hour on the train.
What’s your favourite memory?
I’d never been to a march before Brexit, or anything more political than a Parish Council meeting to be honest. I was worried about taking the family to London for a march fearing it’d be a riot with police violence against the protesters. As it turned out there wasn’t a hint of trouble and everyone was extraordinarily normal. We all shared the same shock at being robbed of our EU Freedom of Movement rights. It was reassuring to find other people were equally furious that our children will never enjoy the right to live, study, work or retire in the 31 EU/EEA countries. A right I’ve enjoyed, but now stolen from our children.

We made our Fake TV and were stopped by thousands of people for a photo “on the news”. The BBC one was a huge hit, but the one with RT was of little interest to most people. I still see the occasional photo on the internet where people have used the photo they took on our TV channel. Annoyingly the BBC changed their graphics the day before a July 2019 march and I had to redo everything.
It was great to meet Steve Bray and he graciously took time for a couple of photos with my son. Please thank Steve for all his hard work!
