When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come? 

Hells bells, I don’t remember! I came because I was passionate to try to change the decision to leave the EU.

I attended about 6 times. The last time was the night of the final vote.

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

About 25 miles as the crow flies. About 1.5 hours car and tube.

What’s your favourite memory?

With friends there before the EU boat trip.

Tell me your story

My story is simply that I wanted to ensure the EU was still available to my grandchildren. They both marched with me. When M was 5 she asked me what is the EU and Brext. I explained simply that Europe was a group of countries that worked together to do lots of important things together. I said the people who wanted Brexit wanted us to do everything by ourselves. She thought for a minute then said “But that is silly, Nana, ‘cos sharing is caring’. That kept me going over the next 3 years.
