When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?

April 2019, to protest Brexit that was due to occur on April 12th.

Roughly how old are you?

50

How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?

Only managed the once, as live in Essex and work in a school, so MPs were usually on holiday when we were.

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

35 miles, 2 hours.

What’s your favourite memory?

Being cheered at by people on buses.

Tell me your story

My two kids and I actually came to London to visit an exhibition, but I was curious to see the protest, so we wandered down to Westminster. We met Steve and had our picture taken with him. We spent a couple of hours there and enjoyed shouting “Stop Brexit”. We loved the support we got from passers by and people on the buses. One of the ladies was kind enough to offer us chocolate truffles. The atmosphere was great and inspired me to buy EU flags and hats, and we went on the two marches in July and October, and had our own mini-protest on a motorway bridge near home. I would have loved to come more often, but I work in a school, so I couldn’t take time off.
