When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?

Oct 2018. Because I felt helpless at home and wanted to be with others passionate about stopping Brexit.

Roughly how old are you?

50. And rough!

How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?

Came a couple of times a week for 4 or 5 months. Occasionally more. Then every now and again. Last there 30th January, 2020

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

Live in West Wiltshire. Total from front door to SODEM – 3 hours.

What’s your favourite memory?

Various ‘pies not lies days; marching down road with Yorkshire band / hundreds of us in bright sunshine; laughing like a loon at 2am on night shift to protect banners; meeting A C Grayling and chatting over pork pies! Making friends – chatting and laughing.  Too many good memories to mention. Lots of kind, caring people.

Tell me your story

I did not belong to a political party. I watched Brexit unfold over 2015 and then 2016 with horror. I was involved in local groups from 2018 onwards – street stalls and leafleting, attending events, marches. It has led to my becoming a unitary authority councillor for Lib Dems – have to make change happen somehow – may as well start at the bottom!
