When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come?
Early 2018 (March?). I came because I was passionate about stopping Brexit and felt that SODEM was the most “useful” protest, because it was visible to the decision makers and appearing daily in the background of the news. I came back because it was fun and inspiring, and you met interesting people!
Roughly how old are you?
63
How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?
Came maybe 10 times to London, the last time in Autumn 2019. Also, for 2 or 3 days at the Tory Party conference in Birmingham (2018).
How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?
I live north of Birmingham. We have friends in Milton Keynes, and I used to come to London for the day every time we stayed in Milton Keynes. It took an hour and a half to two hours each way.
What’s your favourite memory?
Chatting to all sorts of people. Singing anti-Brexit songs. Subversive teasing of the Tories at the Tory Party conference.
