When did you first attend the SODEM protest outside Parliament and why did you come? 

I wanted to show it wasn’t just a London-centric movement, so I travelled down from Sunderland in November 2018.

How frequently did you come and when was the last time you attended?

I was coming on average once a month until Covid. I will be coming Wed 24th June, but before that February 2020.

How far from Westminster do you live and what was your travelling time?

300 miles, so 8 hours on the Megabus!

What’s your favourite memory?

Brexiteers walking by saying its what Northerners voted for and I had the great satisfaction of telling them I was from Sunderland so they were wrong!

Tell me your story

Seeing the image of the woman in Sunderland jumping up and down in celebration of leave vote made me determined to show a different point of view of the region, and that there are actually a lot of strong Remainers here. The NE will be the worst affected by Brexit too so it is really important that it doesn’t happen!
